“Through my art I hope to showcase the natural beauty of the earth — at a scale rarely seen.
Patrick J. Fallon currently lives and works in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelors of Science in Earth and Environmental Science. While pursuing his degree at Vanderbilt, Patrick was captivated by the beauty of petrography - the classification and analysis of rocks in thin section under a microscope. When viewed under a microscope, these thin sections of rock, only 30 µm thick, display brilliant combinations of colors and patterns. This beauty is the result of entirely natural processes of mineral formation within the Earth. Patrick’s work invites the viewer to experience the beauty of the natural world at a microscopic level.
Patrick is dedicated to providing quality and to working locally. Photographs were taken by him, courtesy of Vanderbilt’s Earth and Environmental Science department in Nashville, TN. His prints are done by J. Chastain Photo of Franklin, TN. He uses materials built to last. High quality paper, custom built frames, and conservation clear glass provide the most accurate representation of the image and preserve the original colors.
